We have found our daughter

Six months ago I posted this:

Tim must have noticed the pained look on my face.

"What are you worried about?" he asked as I looked through all the agency packets on my lap.

"What if we choose the wrong country? What if we choose an agency and that is not the agency that has her in their listing? What if we make the wrong choice?" I could feel the release as I spoke the words and my eyes filled with tears.

"Then He will send her to our agency," my husband matter-of-factly stated to me in a voice filled with confidence that God would see this through.

Yes, God has it all under control.

He knows exactly where Joy is, and now we do, too! And He didn't bring her to "our" agency; He brought us to the agency that would eventually list her profile on their website. God continues to amaze me.

In April, God closed the door to the agency with which we were working. It was a painful time for us. We prayed. We trusted.

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28

We held on to this verse. Knowing that we love God and have been called to His purpose, we had faith that even this closing door would be worked for good.

From April to June, we searched and prayed about another agency. God answered our prayer, and we were able to pick up where we had left off.

It was hard for me to "lose" those two months. Why did our daughter need to stay in the orphanage that much longer for no good reason?

The answer to that question came last week when we found our daughter. Two months ago she was not on the list of orphans available for adoption. God placed us at the right place (agency) at the right time for us to find our little girl.

God knew how this would all play out. He is pacing us because we cannot see the finish line. When we move too fast, he slows us down. He will bring us altogether on His timeline.

I know this. But how wonderful to look back and know that He positioned us exactly where we needed to be. I thank Him for that reminder glimpse this week.
