I just got word from our agency that China will have our Article 5 ready for pickup in three weeks instead of the usual two. This step is suppose to take exactly two weeks from the date the courier drops it off. That would put ours ready on February 3, which happens to be the first day of the Chinese New Year. I've been told that China pretty much shuts down for a week to celebrate. So our Article 5 will be ready the following Thursday, Febrary 10.
The blessing and curse of being detail oriented! It makes me very good at getting all our paperwork done accurately, but it also makes me vibrantly aware of all the timeline dates through this process and whether we are "ahead" or "behind". Ahead or behind what? I do not know.
Our Article 5 is the very last piece of paper that the adoption affairs office in China needs to issue our official Travel Approval. We will receive that approval 2-4 weeks after Article 5. So it certainly looks like any hopes to travel in February are scrapped.
God's timing will be perfect (me whispering the reminder to myself).
