I am happy to share that we received our approval from CIS (Immigration) today to adopt Joy. We are still waiting for a document from the National Visa Center, which should arrive within the week (barring any holiday delays). As soon as we receive this, we will send both of these U.S. documents and a few others to our agency who will forward it to their people in China. The agency staff in China will deliver the paperwork to the proper officials. Once those documents have been processed, our agency staff in China will pick up the next needed document (Article 5) and deliver it to the proper office in China. Then will will be waiting for our FINAL approval.
The Chinese New Year is rapidly approaching (end of January). I have heard that the entire country shuts down for an entire week or more. I am guessing we may have our Article 5 by then, but probably not our Travel Approval.
I am praying that we have Travel Approval BEFORE the Chinese New Year. I ask all of you to pray as well. My arms are aching for my little girl.
